Step 1: Equipment and preview

All you need is a fork and two pairs of plyers.
The fork must have a fairly thin handle to make it easier to bend.

Before we begin watch the video below to see what we're making and another more complicated fork statue (we're making the snail)

Nice instructable! I made a snail, but I want more! Does anyone know of any more animals that you can make out of a single fork?

I wanted to keep the flower on mine visible so I bent it in a slightly different way.

Awesome! There's this guy called the spoonman who does this kind of thing at a market in my town. Here's his website, you should check it out!http://www.spoonman.com/catalog.htm

I couldn't bend the shell of the snail, seriously. I had the cheapest spoons every made.

really cool! I'll definitely have to pick up some forks at the flea market and try this out!

Yeah, I've been looking everywhere and experimenting with different forks, but I can't find one thin enough to bend the handle! :(

I used to do something like this. I actually know a few technuiques on how to bend it just as severly without pliers, just hands. I used to be a magician, and I used to bend forks and make them appear to be as if they were "melting" in my hands, in front of the spectators. Then I allowed them keep it as a peice of "art" and a souvinir.
However, even though I might seem like an ass for not doing so, I'm not going to reveal these techniques because I spent A LOT of money buying magic DVDs to make up my fork routine.

Oh yea, just encase you might be intrested, I learned some really neat ways on how to bend forks with just hands on the DVD "Liquid Metal" by Morgan Strebler.

LOL- Just look at how many magic DVDs and books I wasted money on.

Can someone tell me why all the thumbnails are under the intro? How can I get rid of them? This is only my second instructable.
Kiteman in reply to shanueaJun 19, 2007. 8:59 AM
Go to "Edit", and scroll down a bit. See that all the images have the word "remove" under them? Click that, and you remove them from that step only (not from the whole website). If you want to add them to a different step, go to that step (still in Edit mode) and scroll down to your library - click "add". Make sure you add them in the order you want them to be seen, as some people are having trouble re-ordering the images. The reason they are all there is because you had the instructable open when you uploaded the images. You can upload images without them jumping into a step if you use the library menu option - hover over the "You" near the top of the screen, wait for the menu to pop up, then go down to library. You will be able to add any images or files there without them turning up in an instructable. There is also a link there for emailing several files at once.

Thanks for the info :) Now Im wondering why it shows I've had zero views, when obviously I've had more than that.
Kiteman in reply to shanueaJun 20, 2007. 10:56 AM
I'll pass on that one. Try asking The Management.

Looks nice! You should add a nice photo of the finished project to the Intro page to show up as the main image- it would likely attract more people.
