Step 1The cookies

The cookies
First go pick up some fortune cookies from your favorite chinese restaurant. Or you can make them yourself here is a recipe that is pretty tasty but i did not have time to make it for this instructable.
2 large egg whites
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
8 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 teaspoons water
makes ten. or 3 giant ones depending on how you measure out the batter.
First beat egg whites, vanilla extract, and oil until frothy. Then mix in the dry ingredients. Trace circles, and spoon on a thin layer of batter. I recommend only making two at a time until you get fast because as soon as you take the cookie out of the oven you only have about 30 seconds to shape it and add your fortune. Before shaping your cookie place the custom fortune you made in the middle of your cookie. Then fold the cookie in half and then bring the two edges together. Use the thin lip of a cup to shape your cookies. Also use a muffin tin to store your cookies while they harden.

That' really cute. Y'know you can buy boxes of fortune cookies. I've seen them at various stores, Save the trouble of baking. I suck at baking so I'd have to go that route.

I liked the idea a lot and tried to bake those cookies for myself (there are no Chinese take aways in Moscow, Russia, only Chinese restaurants where the fortune cookies cost ...a fortune!) So i used your receipt but nothing good came out, all the time i tried to fold a hot cookie it started to break (tears apart) in the middle and thus all 5 pairs i baked... :-(
