free poi! on the beach! no, not the kind you can eat!

Billy and I were walking near the Sutro baths, and found all this handy kelp!

Step 1: Materials

You can do this anywhere that has kelp. It washes up on the beach.

Step 1) Slice off the hairy, bearded end, and snip to length with your knife

Step 2: Assembly

Stick one in the other

OHH YEAH!

Kelp has built-in universal fittings for connecting one piece to another.

Improvise.

Now you have a poi rope, or whip, or double-ended-poi-chain.

Step 3: Spin It

Woo!

Kelp can take a lot of strain! The biggest issue is when the slippery seaweed flies out of your hands!
