Free Videos for iTunes (and your iPod)

 by crunk
A simple way to get free videos and add them to you iTines library. After that, you can add them to your iPod (if it supports video)

*My 1st Instructable

Step 1: Google Video

Google.bmp
Click on Video.bmp
Go to Google and click "more" in the upper left menu on the home page.
Then select "Video"

Step 2: Videos Hosted By Google

videos hosted bu google.bmp
Select the option "videos hosted by Google" under the search bar.
Then search for the video of your choice. (Google has many music videos, which is what I use it for mostly.)

Step 3: Download

Download.bmp
Save.bmp
Select "Download" under the video title.

When a box comes up, choose "Save"

*If "Download" is not there, then go back and select the next video in the search results.

Step 4: Save

Save as.bmp
Save the file in "My Videos" or anywhere else that you will remember.

Open iTunes.

Step 5: Import

Import.bmp
open file.bmp
When the file is done downloading, click "File", then "Import"

Find the file you want, then open it.

It will then load to your iTunes library.

It should be called "free trip to prison (and electric chair too)"
jaxxster1 in reply to guitarmonk15Mar 29, 2011. 6:39 AM
it isn't illegal or anything.... so why is it a "free trip to prison?"
guitarmonk15 in reply to jaxxster1Mar 30, 2011. 11:09 AM
Unless you have permission from the poster of the video, then it is illegal.
jaxxster1 in reply to guitarmonk15Mar 31, 2011. 11:11 AM
no, it is only illegal if you repost it, or send it to anyone. if you just download and put it on your psp/ipod/whatever, then it isn't illegal. you aren't claiming ownership of the video, you are just keeping it on your device. it is just like streaming it, and not closing the window on the internet explorer.

"You shall not download any Content unless you see a “download” or similar link displayed by YouTube on the Service for that Content. You shall not copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, broadcast, display, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any Content for any other purposes without the prior written consent of YouTube or the respective licensors of the Content." (that's Youtube - when they mention a "download link," they mean the ones that you have to pay to download.)

"You may not either directly or through the use of any device, software, internet site, web-based service, or other means copy, download, stream capture, reproduce, duplicate, archive, distribute, upload, publish, modify, translate, broadcast, perform, display, sell, transmit or retransmit the Content unless expressly permitted by Hulu in writing." (that's Hulu.com, with an emphasis on "copy, download, [or] stream capture.")

"You agree not to access (or attempt to access) any of the Services by any means other than through the interface that is provided by Google, unless you have been specifically allowed to do so in a separate agreement with Google"  "Unless you have been specifically permitted to do so in a separate agreement with Google, you agree that you will not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade or resell the Services for any purpose." (and that's Google Videos - what you are doing is "duplicating" the videos and using it by "means other than through the interface that is provided by Google")
jaxxster1 in reply to guitarmonk15May 4, 2011. 11:23 AM
where did you get this? is this a bunch of user license agreements for youtube?

1. you dont accept ULA's unless you see them and click "I Accept." wich you never see when watching a youtube movie without signing into your account.

2. seriously, this is bogus. these ULA's are for hulu, and youtube. THESE VIDEOS ARE HOSTED BY GOOGLE!!!!! These arent within hulu, or youtubes rights.

3. google gives you a download button! if they dont want you to download then why give you a button?

4. if you are so concerned about it, you dont have to do it!

can you say dissed?
jaxxster1 in reply to guitarmonk15Jul 16, 2011. 7:01 PM
your still worried about this? why go for two months of innactivity, and suddenly feel like you needed to say something again. honestly if you are so worried about this pm the author. also i just did a check and youtube DOES offer download buttons

guitarmonk15 in reply to jaxxster1Jul 17, 2011. 5:02 PM
I'm not really worried about it, I was just looking through my comments, saw this debate, and realized you never responded to me, which I don't mind that much, but I wanted to hear your point of view on my reply. Anyways, let me quote one of my previous comments - "when they mention a "download link," they mean the ones that you have to pay to download." Whatever, I think I've made my point/warning. So, good day to you sir.
jaxxster1 in reply to guitarmonk15Jul 17, 2011. 7:02 PM
ok, you made your point. nice comments by the way.
guitarmonk15 in reply to jaxxster1Jul 18, 2011. 7:11 AM
Thank you

1. "By using or visiting the YouTube website or any YouTube products, software, data feeds, and services provided to you on, from, or through the YouTube website (collectively the "Service") you signify your agreement to (1) these terms and conditions (the "Terms of Service"), (2) YouTube's privacy notice, found at http://www.youtube.com/t/privacy and incorporated herein by reference, and (3) YouTube's Community Guidelines, found at http://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines and also incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to any of these terms, the YouTube privacy notice, or the Community Guidelines, please do not use the Service."

2. I gave you a ULA for Google Videos, which doesn't really exist anymore. Google semi-recently bought youtube, ergo, they didn't need their own video hosting service. Sure, Goggle Videos is there, but try to find a video on their that's hosted by Google.

3. refer to answer 2. (directly above) and the Youtube user agreement (basically Google doesn't, because Google Videos [hosting service] doesn't exist)

4. I wasn't going to do it in the first place, and I'm just giving a warning to everyone (mainly the non-informed) that this is illegal.

4.
guitarmonk15 in reply to guitarmonk15Apr 1, 2011. 4:31 AM
To my point - I think it just might be illegal (that was sarcasm - it is illegal)
pandrews3 in reply to guitarmonk15May 3, 2011. 8:29 PM

well, much to everyone's concern, we don't have "real" emotions here, so let's be clear on comments.

I'm terribly sorry you feel that this is "retarded." If you already knew how to do this for 2 and a half years, (even though google's video search was created in 2006) why did you even open this instructable?

GorillazMiko in reply to The magical duct tape kidFeb 5, 2008. 4:18 PM
Yeah, it is. It's not completely dead. But just a few days ago (maybe 2 weeks I think :P) I realized it doesn't let me upload songs onto it anymore, or anything else like videos or images. :-(
