Step 1Ingredients

Ingredients
~ French bread .. $0.99
~ spaghetti sauce ( or pizza sauce whichever ) .. $2.00 but lasts a good while
~ shredded cheese of your choice (using mozzarella here) $1.25 which will last you the entire loaf

If you like pepperoni or some other topping just add that to the list.
I prefer just plain ol' cheese french bread pizzas.

My family and I make this all the time. We usually make half cheese and half pepperoni, and we sprinkle parmesan on top. Yum!

I like to use the "take and bake" french bread from the grocery store, it's somewhat undercooked so you can then make your pizzas in the oven for a great crispy crust and broiled toppings. I cut the bread lengthwise in half then into whatever lengths I want, so it comes out a lot like the frozen french bread pizzas but obviously better because of better ingredients and not being frozen. Caveat: The undercooked french bread will not last long without being fully cooked, it will mold quickly, I'd say use it within 2 days or so.

The ONLY thing I'D do differently is TOAST the bread first before adding your ingredients and microwaving just long enough to melt the cheese.(30 seconds or so).Think it would give it more 'substance'.

This is a great recipe! I liked this a lot! I had to use tomatoes and put them in the food procesor so I wonder if it would taste different if i used spaghetti sauce would taste better. Well thanks for the idea! 5*

spaghetti sauce works awesome for pizza's i usually use it since we have a lot of it around and the cheap brands sometimes don't have many chinks making them good for pizzas.

I just tried putting some garlic butter on the bread and adding sliced black olives too. Very tasty!
