WARNING Do not make this tea from the "YEW" pine tree it's toxic. The "Yew" pine has red berries. Also FEMALES DON'T drink this tea if you are pregnant it has been known to kill the fetus.  JSZALAN you need to warn the people about this in your instructable!! And jszalan alittle research before you post something might be a good idea. I myself love the tea.

White Spruce isn't pine, but it's very delicious. Plus, it's full of Vitamin C.

can i use just any type of needles? because it's really annoying to look for just one type of tree while you live in a partly boreal, partly deciduous environment

I saw Bear Grylls do this in Man vs. Wild, but I thought it was in the same crazy group as the raw fish, snake, and bear dung eating. It's good to know this is something that the general public can safely consume.

Yeah, the strength of the tea really depends on what kind of tree you get it from. When we made it in the mountains, the taste was so strong that we nearly couldn't drink it. YMMV, of course.

This sounds interesting but I just wonder what it tastes like. Is it really strong? Pine needles are really pungent, normally.

Good one. I understand the tea is very rich in vitamin C. Also, I've heard you can use any pine variety.
