Introduction: Fresh Strawberry Pie
How to make a delicious fresh strawberry pie. I decorated it with a strawberry rose for Mother's Day. A great dessert for Mother's Day and all summer long.
I also demonstrate how to make the rose in the video above. This covers how to make the pie.

Step 1: Make a Glaze
In a saucepan add 1 cup sugar. Stir in 3 tbls. corn starch. Stir in 1/2 cup of water and 1 cup mashed strawberries.
Cook on medium heat stirring constantly until it reaches a boil and begins to thicken. Remove from heat and let cool for at least 15 minutes,
You can add a few drops of red food color if desired. (optional)
Step 2: Make the Pie Filling
Clean enough strawberries to fill a 9 inch deep dish pie shell.
Pour the glaze over the strawberries and stir to coat all the berries.
Step 3: Pour Into Pie Shell
Pour the strawberries into a 9 inch pre-baked pie shell. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
Step 4: Cover With Whipped Cream
Cover the pie with whipped cream. I made my own it tastes so much better than the canned stuff. Decorate the top with additional berries if desired. I made a simple rose from a strawberry.
