Step 5Make them burn.
Put your pan and oil (estimate on the oil, about a half an inch) on a burner on medium high. Let it heat up before you put your pies in, or you'll get soggy, oily pies.
Once hot, gently place your pies into the oil. Flip when they are golden brown. When they are done, place them on a plate covered in plenty of paper towels, and dab the tops off with more paper towel, to remove excess oil.
