I love to do things for  my dogs.
This time I created  great frozen treats for the summer that also work as a Kong filler.

An they  also great for their skin and fur health.

Step 1: Ingredients

ingredients.jpg

Ingredients
1 can of pumpkin
3/4 cup of peanut butter
1/2 cup of flax seed
1/2 cup of flaked oats

Step 2: Mix it up!

Add every ingredient into a bowl .
Mix  everything together until you get  it even.

Step 3: Shapping the cookies

Since these are frozen treats, the best thing to use are chocolate molds.
They work great for freezing and the cookies are easy to take out.

I used Scottie molds for my Scottie girls!
I also used paw shaped molds.

If you don't have molds, you could use ice cube molds or Silicone molds.

Step 4: Freeze

Freeze the mixture for about an hour or more.

then you have the treats ready for the doggies!

Look how beautiful the result is.

A colorful orange with lots of crunchiness from the grains!

Step 5: Extra : Kong filling

Save some of the mixture to fill up a kong.

Add some food pellets to the bottom so that the mixture wont go out easily.

Step 6: Fill it up!

Fill up the kong with the mixture and freeze!

You dog will have lots of fun with this!!

My pup likesd this the only thing I did differenlty is add cooked rice instead of flax seed since he has a week tummy and the rice helps and he still liked it. Thanks for the recipe

Thank you for you comments and feedback!

English is my second language and sometimes I confuse the words.

Your picture of "granola" looks more like flaked oaks and less like actual granola. Do you mean flaked oats instead?

YUM, looks great! I will give this a try. Just a quick question - you have a typo, I think - "1/2 of whole granola." Is that 1/2 cup, 1/2 - what? I might skip the granola just because it's so high in sugar and fat, not good things for doggie.
