Yogurt with probiotics! You can make it at home or dorm with just 3 ingredients. It is a simple and healthy technique to prepare yogurt. Get some of those good bacteria into your gut! Called probiotics, they help regulate digestion and champion the overall health of your digestive tract.

Probiotic capsule is used as a dietary supplement. Probiotic in supplements are generally pretty safe.

This is a simple fruit flavored probiotic yogurt. I will be showing how you can prepare probiotic yogurt right in your dorm.

Note: Probiotic yogurt is any yogurt that contains live, active bacterial cultures. Most natural or regular yogurt is probiotic. A normal serving of yogurt contains billions of bacteria, which many people believe to be beneficial to the body. In 2001, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations defined "probiotics" as "live microorganisms which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host."

Probiotics may also be used to:

  • Help with other causes of diarrhea.
  • Help prevent infections in the digestive tract.
  • Help control immune response (inflammation), as in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

As with any dietary supplement, be aware that probiotic supplements are regulated as foods, not drugs. Tell your doctor about everything you are taking, including the specific bacteria in your probiotic supplement.
