Full Auto Knex Gun V.2

 by KnexFreak360
I have recently finished a gun that shoots full auto. The mechanism is based off of some of the semi auto mechanisms out there. Well to the pros and cons!

Pros
  • Full auto
  • Small
  • Low piece
  • 33 round magazine
  • Sliding trigger
  • Removable magazine
  • Blue Mullets handle
Cons
  • Mag is huge
  • Runs of of bullets quick

Can you fire single shots or is it tap the trigger and they all come out?

More like a spray gun.

I will try to remake but for now look at the pics from v1 and v2 and try to build from there

I may have to try to make something like this! and if this was a turret then the mag would be too short :D

This by any chance? This mech looks very simple to do , but so hard in knex, trust me I've tried!

Wow i had the same idea on like the first gun i ever ever built and it used a white connector and and grey connectors to shoot.
KnexFreak360 (author) in reply to TheFoofinatorAug 27, 2011. 3:45 PM
howd you find the mech i like the name by the way.

Sorry, that comment wasn't intended to go there, my laptop double posted it for some reason. This mech is great! It's like a shotgun gone extreme. Next step is removable preloaded mags to make reloading easier.
Fred the evil puppet in reply to TheFoofinatorOct 31, 2011. 10:36 AM
yeah, but if you ask me, i see a resemblence of minigun here ;)

It was posted on youtube years ago haha.
TheFoofinator says: Aug 27, 2011. 3:09 PM
You should call this gun the Spitfire.
knex mad says: Aug 16, 2011. 3:44 PM
To be totally honest i really disagree with most of the comment as its not really a full auto in the sense that the mech looks like its just simly dumping them out which although people are going to say "aww well thats full auto jackass" im not saying it isnt but it seem that its just mag rubberband pushing them out and the "full auto mech" is just guiding them maybe with some tweaking you may change my opinion on this otherwise looks goo only if we could find another type of mag cause the size is rediculous but yeah not hateing on you in anyway =D

No, I have to agree with you on that.

Thank you, Someone who does see it my way.

Unfortunately, with K'nex, there are very, very few fully-automatic designs that are both effective and actually fully auto lol. I think that psuedo is really the most efficient way to go at this point.
knex mad in reply to apples!!!!!Aug 18, 2011. 3:36 AM
Fully agree and yes it probably is eventhough that then does still have its own cons
apples!!!!! in reply to knex madAug 20, 2011. 12:07 PM
Well almost everything has it's cons...I'm personally exploring the realms of psuedo cause I think that it has more potential than it's been given.
knex mad in reply to apples!!!!!Aug 20, 2011. 2:00 PM
yes yes everything does and yes it does have a great potential if someone takes time and effort to explore the potential thoroully
apples!!!!! in reply to knex madAug 20, 2011. 9:23 PM
I saw someone do something with legos once and it made perfect sense, so I'm trying it out with oodammo.
TheFoofinator in reply to apples!!!!!Aug 26, 2011. 4:04 PM

apples!!!!! in reply to TheFoofinatorAug 26, 2011. 9:42 PM
That's the one! It's pretty hard, true, but I have an idea that just might work...I've been slowly working on it and it seems to be promising.
TheFoofinator in reply to apples!!!!!Aug 27, 2011. 3:03 PM
I did a six layer gun, and grey connectors sidways as the ammo. The hard part was the 2nd and 6th layer, for these were the front of the mag that allow the elastic bands to stretch out from the ammo, but keep the rest of the ammo in.
apples!!!!! in reply to TheFoofinatorAug 27, 2011. 3:54 PM
That part I pretty much have down. I decided that oodammo might be easiest, and it seems I was right :P I have to say, the sideways grey clip idea is pretty creative >.>
TheFoofinator in reply to apples!!!!!Aug 27, 2011. 6:00 PM
I thought about using oodammo but realised it.s pretty much impossible to fit oodammo on a blue-rod width frame.
apples!!!!! in reply to TheFoofinatorAug 27, 2011. 6:26 PM
Oh, that is something I've already accepted partially. However, since the loading area is the stock, I feel like it is the only part that will require more than a blue-rod width frame and should actually add some texture to the gun. It should stay out of the way for the most part :)
TheFoofinator in reply to apples!!!!!Aug 30, 2011. 7:06 AM
Thats a good idea, so the stock would be 7-8 layers to accommodate the oodammo. I think as well that oodammo would be easier to use with this mech because your can slide a rod through it and use the rod as a mag
apples!!!!! in reply to TheFoofinatorAug 30, 2011. 7:21 AM
Yeah, only part of it though. And its actually a little more than 7 layers.... xP The thing is that you can't just use the rod since the rod would break off, so I had to build something around it to stop it and that's really the only thing that took up any space.
TheFoofinator in reply to apples!!!!!Aug 30, 2011. 8:04 AM
Yep you could still use a rod as well as.
apples!!!!! in reply to TheFoofinatorAug 30, 2011. 11:10 AM
Well yeah, it's got both. The rod keeps them in line and the area around it(I call it the receiver for some reason) holds them in.
