Fun / easy envelope prank.

~This is a fun and easy little practical joke to scare your friends and hopefully see a stupid look on their faces. This is my first instructable. I'm a computer programmer so i plan to have some computer related instructables later on but this one is just for fun.

~When i was a little kid I saw some envelopes labeled rattle snake eggs in a gift shop. When the unsuspecting victim looks in for the snake eggs... Blammo! the envelope vibrates and makes a loud buzzing noise that should scare the crap out them.

What you need:

1 Envelope
1 rubber band
1 small paper clip
1 short piece of sturdy wire (possibly a large paper clip or a piece from a wire coat hanger)

Step 1 Bend the wire.

You need to bend the wire in a way that you can string the rubber band on it similar to a bow. It can be done virtually anyway you want as long as it will hold the rubber band tight and fit inside the envelope. This is not a precision instrument...

A good way to use this prank is to make it up per the instructable, then lay it on the front of your desk and ignore it. When some one gets interested, just ignore them. Do your very best to not comment. They will eventually pick it up.

OMG IDEA!!! take one of those big brown envolopes, and put about 10 of these in there, xD. or better yet, use a big envelope, and one of those big gold paper clips, and one of those big rubber bands for packages xD thatll sound like a gun shot xD

I used a coat hanger, and i was in a rush right before church. I got the bolt cutter and did it real quickly, and i found a randon rubberband in my kitchen(the ones for the veggies). I set it up and the freakin thing cut the person (cuz I didn't smooth out the coat hanger) LESSON LEARNED!!!! Either God was mad that I did a prank in church, or I just idn't blunt out the wire. Probably both. =`(

HAHAHAHA this is awesome! I used a junkmale envelope and steamed it open so i wouldn't rip, then put it back in the mail pile... lol you shoulda seen how far my mom jumped when she thought she was just getting another credit card offer XD

HAHAHAHAH! This is the GREATEST!!!! I found another wirey thingy here at work to bend and use as a "frame" for the paperclip and rubber band. Took all of 30 seconds to assemble. Then, victimized one of my coworkers, who physically dropped the envelope and leapt back! ahahahahah! Hysterical! I have been sitting at my desk with tears in my eyes from laughing and sniggering. Definitely a plus rating from me!
