This cloak is remarkably warm! I play a live-action role-play game called Amtgard; and I’ve worn these cloaks in below 0 degree winter nights for hours on end, and have been warm and toasty. Step 1: Step 1

This is the pattern you will use for this cloak. Size will vary from person to person, but the shape will stay the same. Start with the suede.
This will be the outer material for the cloak.

Step 2: Step 2

First, sew the two (A) pieces together with the seam on the inside.

Step 3: Step 3

Then, do the same with the (C) pieces. The (C) section will be your hood.

Step 4: Step 4

Sew the (B) pieces to the (A) pieces, but leave the crossed-out sections open. These will be your arm holes.

Step 5: Step 5

Sew the (C) piece to the (A) piece.

Step 6: Step 6

Sew the lines that the arrows are pointing to, but do it in the inside. This is where your shoulders rest.

Step 7: Step 7

Follow the previous steps with the fur. Note that the fur will need to be hand-stitched because it will gunk up your machine and break your needle. You are essentially making two cloaks and attaching them. The attaching process comes later.

Step 8: Step 8

Remember that the fur is the lining (or “inside”) of the cloak, so make sure the fury part is facing the right direction.

Step 9: Step 9

This is not required, but it is a nice touch. Choose a design, cut it out, and pin it to the back of the cloak (the suede).

Step 10: Step 10

Start by making a straight stitch as close to the edge of the design as possible. Then, cut off the excess material.

Step 11: Step 11

This part is called satin stitchappliqué. For those who don’t know, this is a very close zigzag stitch that attaches one piece of fabric to another. Note that each line must be sewn two to three times to make it nice and neat, without gaps. Make sure you practice before you appliqué on your cloak.
