In this Instructable i will show you how to make a few pranks on peoples computer using simple commands on notepad and cmd prompt.

Step 1: Fake warning message

Ok first we will start with the easy one, the fake warning message.
This is how to do it:
1.Open note pad
2.Type this in
@echo off
msg * Warning your computer has detected a virus.
msg * To remove the virus click OK or close this box
msg * Your Hard drives are now being formatted
msg * Please wait ...........

3.Save the file as April-fools.BAT
4.Right click on the file and press hidden
5.Go to folder options and click show hidden files
6.Cut the file and place it in the victims Start up folder in the start menu
7.Go back to folder options and click do not show hidden files.

Now what each of the lines you typed in done:
@echo off << this runs the commands in the background so the victim will not see any codes
msg * <<this commands the computer to show a message
msg * hahahah <<this is what the message will display

The results
when the victim starts up there computer the first message will appear, when they click OK the next one will appear and make the victim think there hard drive is being formatted until they get the last message saying APRIL FOOLS.

Now your code should look like the image below:
where i can found startup folder

just type all command and save file with April fools than right click on that file press (run as administrator)

This is adaption of first notepad tip

@echo off

msg * Warning your computer has detected a virus.

msg * To remove the virus click OK or close this box

msg * Your Hard drives are now being formatted

msg * Please wait ...........

msg * Shutting down in...

shutdown /s /f /t 10

shutdown /a /f /t 9

msg * 10

msg * 9

msg * 8

msg * 7

msg * 6

msg * 5

msg * 4

msg * 3

msg * 2

msg * 1

msg * ...

msg * APRIL FOOLS!!!!

This will not shutdown the computer hopefully, let me know if you tried it

Bro where I can Save file

Hello. I have a question. I would like to make something like:

@echo off

" Your pc have been infected. Sorry for deleting all your files. Have a nice day. "

and then it will start opening random (just a lot) files. Can someone tell me the comand to open random? Or some way to open C: files and dont crash pc? :D

Try something like

"echo off

start notepad.exe

start notepad.exe

msg * "Your pc have been infected. Sorry for deleting all your files. Have a nice day."

start notepad.exe

start notepad.exe.

start notepad.exe

start notepad.exe"

I just used it on a older PC so you might need to change the message type but this will open a finite amount of Notepads, if you want something else just add the file name with its execution .exe.

but if you want a infinite amount which is a little more harsh use

@echo off

:A

"Your pc have been infected. Sorry for deleting all your files. Have a nice day."

start notepad.exe

goto A

This should make it loop forever to stop it the easiest way is to shut off the computer which if you want there is a few commands for that too! Have fun with this! :D

I made one that...might kill a person called 'Ay, I'm just doing my %random% job.';

@echo off

title API Hacker

echo API Hacker loaded.

echo Hit 'ENTER' to open the program.

pause

:p:

echo Ay, I'm just doing my %random%%random% job.

color 01

color 12

color 13

color 14

color 23

color 24

color 32

color 34

color 42

color 43

color 41

color 45

color 51

color 52

color 53

color 54

color 02

color 03

color 04

color 05

title Ay, I'm just doing my %random%%random% job..

goto p

start

The way it works, is that if you hit Enter, it will loop flashing colors with

echo Ay, I'm just doing my %random%%random% job.

So do the coding but then do this near the end :
:he
explorer.exe

goto he

If the way you use doesn't work it's:

:he

start explorer.exe

goto he

thnx! i'm gonna try it when i get on a pc!

When i click on the 'finished' shortcut, it logs off instantly even though i put a 60 second timer on it. i typed:

shutdown -l -f -t 60 -c "message" (I did include the quotes if im not supposed to, then that's probably my issue)

help? :P

When using shutdown do:

shutdown -c "Your message here" -s

Here's a cool locker that hides your files and locks it until u put a password in; without any downloaded software! save it as a batch file;

( with extension .bat ) change the YOUR PASSWORD HERE part in the 23rd line with any password you want.

Now you will see a batch file. Double click it to create a folder locker ( A new folder named Locker would be formed at the same location )Bring all the files you want to hide in the locker folder.Double click the batch ( As created above ) file to lock the folder. you will have an option. press capital Y.

cls

@ECHO OFF

title Folder Locker

if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK

if NOT EXIST Locker goto MDLOCKER

:CONFIRM

echo Are you sure u want to Lock the folder(Y/N)

set/p "cho=>"

if %cho%==Y goto LOCK

if %cho%==y goto LOCK

if %cho%==n goto END

if %cho%==N goto END

echo Invalid choice.

goto CONFIRM

:LOCK

ren Locker "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

echo Folder locked

goto End

:UNLOCK

echo Enter password to Unlock folder

set/p "pass=>"

if NOT %pass%==YOUR PASSWORD HERE goto FAIL

attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"

ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Locker

echo Folder Unlocked successfully

goto End

:FAIL

echo Invalid password

goto end

:MDLOCKER

md Locker

echo Locker created successfully

goto End

:End

That looks correct to me, but try doing shutdown -l -t 60 -f -c "message"

I don't think that will fix the problem, but you should try.

Try shutdown -s -t 60 -c "what ever" don't use "" lol what it does is shutdown -s tells it to shutdown -t 60 tells it to shutdown in 60 secs and -c tells it to say your message let me know if this helps

This is great. I modified this and dropped it into a shared server on my office network and most of the employees fell prey to it.

@echo off

title that one night !=!V0.1!=!

goto Main

:creds

echo -------------------------------------credits------------------------------------

echo ----------------------------story line by DB aka lapus-----------------------

echo --------------------coded by DB aka lapus--------------------

echo ---------thank you for your support ;)--------

echo menu?

set /p menu?=

if %menu?%==menu goto Main

if %menu?%==menu cls

pause

:help

echo -------------welcome to the help menu-------

echo to play the game all you have to do is

echo survive, if the game goes to the menu

echo (do to lack of codeing issues)

echo that means you lost ! oh no

echo so make sure you dont lose ok,

echo also we have a command respone

echo promblem so keep typeing the command

echo to do it please and thank you for

echo staying with us throught futrue updatas.

echo menu?

set /p menu?=

if %menu?%==menu cls

if %menu?%==menu goto Main

:Main

echo ---------welcome to the main menu-------------

echo play? exit?

echo credits? need help? please vist help first !

set /p help?=

if %help?%==help goto help

set /p credits?=

if %credits?%==credits goto creds

set /p play?=

if %play?%==play goto Game

set /p exit?=

if %exit?%==exit exit

:Game

echo ok, so you wake up in a forest and crickets are out and wolfs are about what do you do?

echo A. grab a rock and kill your self, B. look for a house,

echo C. find the crickets and eat them D. try and build a house out of logs

echo *HINT* there is only 2 that are good.

set /p A=

set /p B=

set /p C=

set /p D=

set /p menu=

if %menu%==menu goto Main

if %A%==A goto main

if %B%==B echo you find some bricks and tape but no house?

if %C%==C echo you find the crickets and eat them and then feel a little better and have more enrgey

if %D%==D goto main

pause

I MADE A GAME BRUH ! =_=

When I download BAT to EXE from F2KO, Antivirus detected the file as virus.

This is awesome! a quick question though, can you make this for more updated windows computers, like 8.1?

somehow it could not read my batch file

Did you change the .txt to "all files" @ the bottom? If not, do that, then it'll work
