Introduction: Game Over Plaque

In this instructable, you will learn how to create a plaque like the one pictured.

Step 1: Downloading the Cad File

Download the CAD file and open it in techsoft 2D.

Step 2: Milling

Mill the mold using the milling machine using the CAD file. Use a 50mm x 75mm piece of modelling foam that is 20mm thick.

Step 3: Riser and Runner

Carve a runner with the-- machine and then create a riser using a razor/box cutter. Make sure the well had as much space as possible from the side and is deep enough but not too deep. Make sure that the riser ends going out the same side as the well. Then, place a clean, flat piece of modelling foam on top of it and place rubber bands around them tightly, to keep them in place, avoid putting a rubber band near the well.

Step 4: Pewter Casting

Take the mold and drip the molten pewter into the well, keep dripping it in until the well is filled near the brim with pewter. Make sure that while you do this, you have gloves, an apron, goggles and close toed shoes on. Carefully place the mold on the rack using a 'crane' grip. Wait 10-15 minutes before taking your piece out of the mold.

Step 5: Taking Your Mold Out

After 10-15 minutes, carefully take the rubber bands off and open your mold, then, carefully take it out with pliers and break the well off the piece. Then, sand down any uneven edges.

Step 6: Engraving

Next, you will need to engrave the horse on the piece of pewter. First, you have to align the edge of the piece of pewter too the edge of the laser cutter. Then, use the CAD file to engrave the horse onto the piece. Carefully take the piece out when finished.

Step 7: Drilling

Now you need to drill holes using the indents to guide you. Use a 1.5mm drill to drill a hole through the piece on either side. Make sure to hold the piece down securely and wear goggles.

Step 8: Finished Product

Now you have your finished product! Sand down the edges to your preferred smoothness and now you can use it! Attach your plaque to your horses halter my sewing it or using another material, or, you can also use it as a necklace. Enjoy!
