Instructables

Hi!, this is my first Instructable! Going to make a keychain with computer keys. It's simple, and can be completed in less than 15 minutes. Let there.
You need:
-The ring of a keychain
-Links (from a fine chain, for example)
-Computer keys (please, you don't remove the keys to your new computer =P)
-Barbecue skewer (or similar)
-Lighter
-Pliers

Sorry for my bad English, I'm Spanish!

Step 1: Make holes in the keys

First, heat the barbecue skewer with a lighter (about 10-15 seconds). Then, make a hole in the side of the key, pushing strong but slowly. Remove the skewer barbecue fast to avoid sticking. You can remove the remains of plastic with pliers.

Step 2: Unite the keys

Open the link with the help of pliers. Now tuck it through the holes of two consecutive keys and then close it with pliers.Repeat this step until you unite all keys.

Leaves some links after the last piece (if you want) and locks the ring of a keychain in the last link.

Step 3: Ready!

Now you can rest assured not to lose your keys (both computer and home =P) and not stop presume to be geek.

If you have any problem write me.

Thanks for your time, I hope you have enjoyed!

Your English is easily understandable- it's better than some English-speaking people on this site because you take the time to use punctuation :)

I'd like to see this combined with Flash drive in a Key- a couple of bootable drives and several gigs of storage attached to your keys? Now that's geek cred!

Totally agree. It's interesting how many people say "Sorry for my bad English, I'm Spanish/French/German/Chinese/Russian/from Mars." They then proceed to type more fluently than many English-speakers.

so true! I'm french, and in montreal, (bilingual city) and I always say that... we just can't help it... people feel so inadequate... lol

WHO LIKED MY KEYCHAIN BESIDES THE AUTHOR??? I sure as hell do!! still have it... indestructable!! (i filled the back of the keys with epoxy!!! it'll never break!!
It's probably because people with english as a second language stick more to the rules that they learned. Unlike many primary english speakersl

front is nice but back?
c27_mari (author)  Darrjus4 years ago
Well, back it isn't too nice, but that really matters? ;)
Anyway you could fill it whit silicone.
Good idea but sillicone must be white, no limpid. P.S. What make key supr? I'm not have this button. "Supr" = "delete"  ?
HHL Darrjus4 years ago
Yes. It's delete on a spanish keyboard.

I also like the Bloq/Blog key on this one.

I'm not sure if such a tiny amount of plastic counts, but wouldn't it be hazardous and toxic to melt the keys?
c27_mari (author)  KrisJR4 years ago
I don't think so because I think that it didn't emit fumes when I do it, but you could use a mask if you want. If you do it carefully it won't be dangerous (like everything).

Great! and I love your other keychain =]
what, this mcdonalds tamagochi figurine?...

*joke* : It's been so long since I pressed on the reset button, that my tamagochi has cataracts (his eyes used to be black)

also, I took two separate chains that used to hold south park keychains to attach my ALT and DELETE buttons to the first one, witch is held to my keys by a hook screw that comes from a third keychain. to seal everything i filled the back of the buttons with 5 minute epoxy (holds the chains and screw in)

cheers!

Sorry for my bad English, I'm Spanish!

You've nothing to apologize for. Here's the extent of my Spanish:
Cuidado! Piso Mojado

Which according to the sign next to me means "Caution! Wet Floor" in English.

The only question I had was the title of Step 2: Unite the keys. At first I thought you meant untie the keys because I saw you pulling the chain links apart. Then I saw that there was more to the step.

This is uber-cool. Nice english, btw. Mine is gonna say, "G33K."
