Introduction: Geeky Glasses Pencil Clip

Picture of Geeky Glasses Pencil Clip

Balancing pencils behind your ears is often considered a geek thing. Wearing glasses is also often considered a geek thing. Unfortunately, it is difficult to do both at the same time, and, for the benefit of geeks all over the world, I invented this to make it easier. Essentially, it is a clip glued to the side of your glasses to hold pencils. Enjoy!

Step 1: What You'll Need

Picture of What You'll Need

For this project, you will need the following:

  • A Pair of Scissors
  • A Pencil
  • A Straw
  • A Sharpie
  • A Container of Krazy Glue
  • A Pair of Old Glasses
  • A Large Amount of Geekiness

Step 2: Preparing the Clip

Cut approx. 1" off of the end of your straw. Using your scissors, cut a slit down the entire length of the 1" segment. Insert your pencil into your clip, and, using your Sharpie, color the clip black.

Step 3: Gluing the Clip

Apply Krazy Glue to the outside middle of the glasses' temple that is on your predominant side. Press the clip (with pencil still clipped in) firmly against the glue, and hold until the glue dries.

Step 4: Sharpening Your Pencil

Congratulations! You now have a geeky glasses pencil clip!

Please comment, and tell the instructables community how you made yours, and what you would change if you did it again. Oh, and don't forget to sharpen your pencil! Thanks!

Hahaha this is awesome! When in the workshop, I put my pencil between the side of my head and the temples of the glasses. How easy is this to put the pencil in and out of?

I hold a pencil between my upper lip and my nose, Works for me!

It is very easy to pull out, but putting it back in works best when you take off your glasses. Thanks for asking and commenting!

This is a great idea. I would put it on safety glasses. Maybe stiffer plastic with a lip would make it easier to put the pencil in.

Even more geekier thing to do would be to replace the pencil with a laser pointer :P

attach that to a manly pair of safety glasses and the geekiness disappears.

I'm so glad you sharpened that pencil by the end... the blunt pencil was setting my OCD off...
