Gesture Drawing Examples

A few gesture drawing examples created from pastel on newsprint drawn from a live model.  The boxers name was Sal and he wasn't a huge fan of staying still.  Using a live animal is a great way to force students to have to draw fast and get the general idea of the subject down.  When I teach gesture drawings with students I do not allow erasers to force their hands to look with their eyes and draw with their guts.

Thank you kindly. My personal work is very loose and gesture like already so for me it's easy, that and I work fast. :) I laugh every time I see them, because that darn dog did not want to sit still!
