I have a US Army Project Salvo and I used an old camouflage shirt and cut it into strips and tied it into knots all around my gun. Got to say it looks great I will camouflage my mask when it gets in but until then I will pwn with my ghillie marker.

well, pretty good. my friend has that exact same gun. its pretty good. if i where you i would ghillie the hopper more than the gun, becasue hte hopper sticks out in the way of everything.
junits15 says: May 21, 2011. 3:30 PM
wouldn't it be easier to take the gun apart, paint it and then put it back together? You would probably get cleaner lines. Looks good though; might try this :)

if you want a much better way, just get green and brown (whichever colors you want really) then get a roll of tool (REALLY thin fabric and just wrap the tool around, then get a needle and thread the yarn through, its also removable so yeah

Most Ghillie suits are made of Jute (Hessian) so I think that would be much better.

Here is my ghillied-up tippmann 98 marker. It was camo to start with so only the string needed painting. I covered the barrel and the hopper and the shiny air line with over 400 ft. of string in total. The total time for this project was two hours.
Enjoy!

Ummm. I wouldn't suggest taking a sparkly blue paintball gun to a woodsball match. ever. Its a nice instructible but I have a few complaints (dontcha love 'em?): -Getting green yarn isn't much harder than getting white yarn and saves the spraypaint factor. -For people with ported barrels: the porting in a barrel is the little holes that allow the gasses to disperse with less noise, by rapping it in tape you are making your paintball gun very loud and obvious (could be good, or bad) -Try to only paint the outer sides of the gun. (take the marker apart and just paint the two shell pieces without the bolts and stuff) other than that, good job!

I dont ususally ghillie up my marker because when the fighting gets intense sometimes your ghillie gets snagged. It happens alot with my pants and shirt, but when my gun snags I cant fire in the direction I want to, So thats why I dont use netting on mine. P.S I painted mine too. I used brown and green spraypaint from walmart.
waverider894 says: Nov 30, 2008. 9:10 AM
shouldn't you take out the bolt first?
splat32 says: Oct 12, 2008. 11:59 PM
a better way to do this, not implying that yours wasnt good (which it was prolly one of the best ive seen thumbs up) is to tie the string or hemp (burlap is the best, you can get it from rice bags, i did it with the rice bag ones lol), anyways, tie the strimg, hemp, burlap, w.e, to a shoelace and then coil wrap it around the barrel, and dying the ghillie is better than spray paint in my opinion cause the s/p is good for blending color, not as a base... the shoelace is what snipers sometimes use, or put a net over you paintball gun (avoid key locations that move) and the stuff the ghillie and leaves and grass and such into it camo turns out better
MrAngryPants (author) in reply to splat32Oct 14, 2008. 1:19 PM
I have redone my gun and mask and have actually made a full suit, but this was only for quick fix for a blue marker which sticks out like a sore-thumb in a heavily wooded area. I know it was rather sloppy, but it was what i had lying around and the game was tomorrow. :D
Molybdenum says: Jul 30, 2008. 8:38 AM
You should probably guille your hopper too, as that and you head will usually be what is sticking out.
Aburame Shino says: Jul 8, 2008. 3:43 PM
We have the EXACT SAME marker. XD Sveet. Svery sveet insveed.
