Hi,
In this instructable i am going to show you how to make a giant Flexagonal.

Its a simple build and is only limited by how big a bit of cardboard you want to make it from (or several big bits :) )

Once its built you can decorate it in a variety of ways

One day i hope to make an even bigger one that the one shown here but need a bigger work space.

Step 1: What You Need

Tools

Craft knife or some other type of cutting tool

Steel rule.

Cutting mat (or a spare bit of card)

Template. The one in the picture should print out on an single sheet of A4

Materials

corrugated cardboard

Duct tape

Step 2: Marking It Out and Cutting It Out

Using your template mark out 24 triangles and carefully cut them out.

You'll notice that it isnt an equilateral triangle. you might want to lay the sections out as displayed in the pictures above keeping the short edges facing each other, like wise with the long edges.

Step 3: Taping It Up Part 1

Taking a section of 4 at a time tape up the long edges and fold them in on themselves to form a sort of pyramid.

Then tape over the edges on the outside.

Repeat until all the sections are done. by the end you will have six pyramids.

Step 4: Taping It Up Part 2

Now that you have all your sections align the short edges of two of them. place a line of tape along both sides to create a hinge of sorts.

Repeat until all six sections are taped in a line and then bring the two ends round to meet each other and tape them together.

and you are done :)

Just like normal size flexagonals it can be decorated in many different ways

I hope you enjoyed this instructable and as always thoughts/comments/criticisms and even pictures of your own giant flexagonals are welcome in the comments below :)
Enjoy
