I have a friend that I like but I don't know if he likes me and his 19th birthday is coming up. I really like the bracelet ideas, but do you have any suggestions about what I should make him.

Been there many a time haha this is what I suggest,
1st- brownies (from a box) but put reeses cups along the bottom of the pan and fill it with the mix before baking ( I like to lay them in rows) as they bake they melt together but the peanut butter is kind of like a suprise in the bite! I havent met any guy who disliked these. and it is friend zone "friendly" so there is no awkwardness in giving him baked goods. dudes love it.

2nd- I think that you could take the bracelet ides but maybe turn it into a key ring holder. Perhaps use the eight chord flat braid technique? Its thoughtful but easy to give because he wont feel like he has to wear it on his wrist all the time, just always keep his keys on it!

Sorry for the paragraphs! killing time in class ;)

I love this idea! My boyfriend loves my brownies, but I never thought of putting in reeses. He LOVES reeses as well! Thank you very much :D

Personally I like the survival bracelet, make it out of paracord (50' for $4 at Dicks Sporting Goods) it looks tough and manly, and still has a practical function, about 7-10' of rope in an emergency.

How about a hand made camel back water pack? Hehe. It would be nice if my girl could put my miniature plastic tank model together while I'm in the dirt. A bonus added if she could paint it. I've always wanted a woven sweater that matches my tastes. Only she knows how I like it and she can do clothes like that. I got hand made, leather gloves with fur in them and that was nice! Bracelets with messages get to personal, especially if I'm not sure if I'm not keep the girl long after it was given. Plain bracelets like the one above are ok too. That I-Pod case was sweet. One for the cell would be sweet too. Cuz most of the stuff mentioned doesn't float any ones boat in this room. We're all Marines stuck in one "wittle" room. Oo-Rah

What about making good old fasioned WHOOPY

I'd say yes, but the instructable would be awkward, to say the least.

True True,

But you could be subtle and give him a manual and hope he's not dyslexic. I refer to Victoria Woods.

I really wouldn't want any of these things to be honest....
Feb 11, 2010. 7:17 AMKagetsuki says:
I'd have to say the same. If a girl brought me any of these I'd be hesitant to use them. Perhaps the key ring I could handle, but the rest would no doubt get me weird looks.

I'm aware Valentines day is different in America; but what is wrong with raw chocolates?
Feb 11, 2010. 4:20 PMzaq001 says:
yeah chocolates are the way to go and i too agree that i would be hesitant to use them as well.

Usually I don't make suggestions to add to a guide, but I believe you missed the most obvious man craft of all:

The paracord bracelet.

I thought it was cool, but I really agree with you. No offense to Stormdrane, but the instructions are unclear.
Dec 17, 2009. 5:41 AMWicken says:
That's so funny . I was TOTALLY expecting to see that one here & then I saw your comment.  I love that craft.  My guy is a math geek, but even he needs to tie the trunk down or something like that more times a year than you'd think.
Dec 17, 2009. 11:15 AMcrak-a-bottle says:
thumbs up for maths geek guys!
mine is one of those... :]

You missed chainmaille.
May 27, 2010. 11:04 AMWyldStyl3 says:
I agree with the chainmail.  That is a kinda weird gift and you really wouldn't ever use it, but it would still be freakin sweet!
Feb 11, 2010. 10:39 AMtravisttt says:
I'd love to get chainmaille. You can make a bracelet, or take on a larger project and make a coif or a hauberk. Using different colored rings you could even personalize it.
Jan 4, 2010. 3:17 AMpaulzef says:
As awesome as the chainmaille is, its really a personal project rather than a gift. Maybe back in Medieval times you could go up to someone and say "HEY! Happy Birthday, I made you some chainmaille."
but today its kind of a wierd gift. If your guy likes wierd, then by all means.
Jan 26, 2011. 12:07 PMAmora Incantare says:
I made my boyfriend a chainmail trinity necklace that he hardly ever takes off; he asked for some more chainmail for his birthday! Depending on the project it would be a very acceptable gift, you don't need to make a full shirt or anything like that; a small accessory means just as much, in my opinion. :)
