Introduction: Ginger Crinkle Cookies
I love anything with ginger or molasses. Over the years I have made dozens of ginger cookie recipes. I ended up mashing a few different recipes together and made my perfect cookie.
The ingredients you will need are:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup oil
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 2 tsp cinnamon plus 1 tsp set aside
- 1/4 cup suar
- 1 1/2 tsp ginger
Step 1: Dry Ingredients
Wisk together the flour, 2 tsp cinnamon, baking soda, cloves and ginger together in a medium sized bowl. Set aside this mixture.
Step 2: Wet Ingredients and Bringing the Dough Together
Mix together the egg, brown sugar and oil. Once this is combined, add in your molasses and mix as best as you can. I find the oil wants to separate a bit, but once everything else gets added this will solve itself. Add your wet ingredients to your dry and mix until well combined.
Step 3: Rolling and Baking
Put the 1 tsp of cinnamon and white sugar in a bowl and mix. This is what you will be rolling your unbaked cookies in before they go in the oven. Grab pieces of dough about 2 tbsp big, roll and then toss in your cinnamon sugar mixture. Place each ball on a lined cookie sheet a few inches apart. Bake your cookies at 350 degrees for 11 minutes. Cool and enjoy :)
