Here's a fun, easy jewelry idea that requires no additional skills. It's called the Glittery Tube Necklace, and it's a great project to make and sell at a very low cost!

Step 1: What You'll Need

Here's what you'll need to make your own Glittery Tube Necklaces

a block of grey oven bake clay
bamboo skewer
X-acto knife or plastic clay knife
acrylic paint (I'm using blue)
oil based Sharpie marker
silver or gold chain
clear glaze
clear tape
tiny paint brush
glitter
Mod Podge

Step 2: Prep the Beads

First, roll out your clay into a thin, small snake. Then, cut that about 1 to 2 inches long with your X-acto knife. Now, you're going to make a hole in the beads by pushing a skewer through the center of the bead. You might want to wiggle around to make the hole large enough for the chain to pass through.

Step 3: Bake the Beads

Now, pop the beads in the oven and bake according to the package directions. My clay bakes at 275 degrees for 15 minutes. Once time's up, take them out and let them cool completely.

Note that it may be hard to see in this picture, but what actually happened was that the clay bead kind of burned on top. However, I figured that since I am covering it with paint, gold Sharpie, and glitter anyway, it wouldn't really make much of a big difference!

Step 4: Decorate

Now, it's time to decorate the beads! Place a piece of clear tape around the bottom of the bead before painting to help in making a neat line. Now, paint the end of the bead with your small paint brush and let dry completely. Then, once dry, draw a thin border with your Sharpie marker. You can also add glitter, just like how I did here in the third photo.

Once you're done, take them outside and glaze your entire beads and allow to dry.
