You can buy gluten-free oats, like Bob's Red Mill. Thankfully, they are getting easier and easier to find these days.

Most of the problem with oats is how they are processed (i.e. in production sites that also process wheat, rye, etc...) But oats also contain Avenin, which cannot be processed by some (but not all) with Celiac Disease. I do not feed my daughter oats due to this - when she gets older and wants to, she can figure out if she can process Avenin. In the meantime, it's not worth risking her health for me to find out, IMO.

I am not the one who added my no-bake cookies recipe to the group and have all of the caveats listed on my Instructable. You are right, everyone is individual in their reactions.

It's just a simple recipe--NOT a GF recipe--that some who eat GF can adapt to their needs.

Apple crisp made with non-wheat flours is very gluten free...good hot or cold, ice-creamed either way. Old fashioned, but with an apple peeler goes pretty quick, and you can pre-mix the topping and keep baggies in the freezer for those 'crisp' days...

yess its so yumm and i use a bit of sweet potato flour in mine makes it super yumm and gooy. is your topping kinda liquedy or is it more dry kinda like pie crust dough before you smoosh it together an roll out. Before i made mine g-free it was dryier now it seem more most and if i add less liqued it dosent work right.

This is amazing! I was diagnosed with Celiac when I was 10 so I've been gluten free for about 8 years now!
