Step 3Wrap the Tape

Wrap the Tape
Wrap a length of Duct Tape around the cut end with half of the tape above the cut.

This will add stability to your planter and prevent the plastic from stretching from the weight of the soil after it has been hung up.

Use the mesh bag onions come in, weave in and out of the holes on the top edge. That should give ample support, will stand up to the weather, and keep the onion bags out of the landfill.

If you are concerned with the plastic stretching from the weight of the bottle, you could recycle some old yarn, string, VCR tape or whatever and make a simple macrame type hanger that the bottle just slips into instead.
