Gross Jeff-Have you ever been at home alone with a cold and no one to talk to?This project is a face that has the capability to speak and sneeze.

Materials

Paper towel ,Tape ,Paper mache glue , A board , staples ,News paper, Chalk, Drill ,makey make, Computer Alligator clip ,Copper wire, Copper tape, Battery Pump

Step 1
The first step to creating Gross Jeff is to know how big you want him.Say you want him to be 12 inches wide then you would want your board to be 14 inches wide.And you want him to be 12 inches long then you would want you board to be 14 inches long.Then you need to sketch your gross jeff on the board.Once you have a sketch of him you need to drill a hole into the middle of his forehead.Then stick the tube into it and pull it through to where about 6 inches is sticking out(if that’s too much you can cut the tube once you have finished the project).

Step 1: Sketch It Out

Now that you have a sketch build on it.Now get out the paper towel and tape.Ball up 4-5 paper towels.Build the face around the base of the tube.Next staple the edges of the balled up paper towel to your board to make it stable (you only need to that on the edges on his face)and tape it down.Then build upon it (around the edges and also upwards)to make the face have volume.You also need to shape the paper towel to fit the sketch on the board.Once you have gotten the shape and height that you want the face to be you can start making the nose and eyes.You need to make sure your nose has nostrils because your tube is going to need to run through it.Continue the process of balling it up and taping it down.

Step 2: Build on the Sketch

Step 3: Mache Time

Once you have finished his face you can start using the news paper and paper mache.To do this part you tear a piece of the newspaper off and dip one end of the news paper into the paper mache,then the other side and spread it from the ends of the piece of news paper to the middle of it.Then gently place it onto any part of the face but be careful with the nose because you want to make use you dont get the news paper in the way of the tube in his nose.Do that whole process until you cover the whole face in the news paper and paper mache. Allow it to dry overnight without being touched.But you aren't done just yet you need to drill two more holes right beside his mouth on the board.

Step 4: Final Step

Once it has dried you can see if you have missed any spots and if you did cover them up using the same method as you did to start off with the paper mache part.Now work with the mouth.You will now place 2 pieces of copper tape down into the mouth making sure to leave a gap.Once you have placed the two pieces you will then get a piece of copper wire and place the wire on each piece of tape(still not touching).After you have finished that you will place two more pieces of copper tape on top of the copper wire(they still don’t touch).Now run the wires in the holes beside his mouth that you have made earlier Now you can make a coper cookie get a piece of cardboard and put copper tape all over it.
