Introduction: HEART - a Board Game Where the Good Player Is Hunted

Good is a person who, due to an unfortunate trip accident, ended up in an island isolated from the modern world. (Un)fortunately, this island is inhabited by people that call themselves Evil and their proclaimed leader, Chaotic. Instead, Chaotic judges those that still practice kindness and ethical actions and encourages stealing, witchcraft, and other immoral deeds and provided that the members don’t go insane and bloodthirsty.

Panic spreads throughout the island with Chaotic gone missing and Evil members trying to find him. Will Good be able to leave the island in 6 nights? Or be found and judged by the people around him? Or abandon his principles and become the next leader?

Step 1: Download All the Files

Stl files are the game pieces that needs to be printed using a 3D printer

PDF files 1-8 are the playing cards that will be printed and cut

PDF file playerboard is the file to laser cut onto an MDF board

PDF file halfheart is the file to laser cut onto a opaque black and white acrylic sheet

Step 2: 3D Print the Blackheartcubepiece

You'll need at most:

30 grams of black ABS plastic for 3D printing

Load blackheartcubepiece.stl into your 3D printer and print 24 pieces. If the size seems off (too big or too small), take note the model is a cube in shape that is approximately 1 cm in height.

Step 3: 3D Print the Redheartpiece

You'll need at most:
10 grams of red ABS plastic for 3D printing

Same as the previous step, load blackheartcubepiece.stl into your 3D printer and print 24 pieces. If the size seems off (too big or too small), take note the model is a heart in shape that is approximately 0.29 cm in height.

Step 4: Insert the Red Hearts Into the Cubes

Using a mallet (or pure raw one finger powers), gently mallet the heart pieces into each black cube. Make sure the flat side of the heart is the one that'll be shown/felt by the finger.

Tip: You can prefer other colors if you want

Step 5: Laser Cut the Half Hearts

You'll need at most

200 mm by 500 mm opaque black acrylic sheet and

200 mm by 500 mm opaque white acrylic sheet

Laser cut 24 white and black half hearts pieces each using the file halfheart.pdf

Step 6: Laser Cut the Player Board

You'll need at most:

A 400 mm by 600 mm MDF board

Lasercut 6 copies of playerboard.pdf onto the MDF.

Step 7: Print the Cards

Print the pdf files 1-8 on an 8 by 10 in photopaper. Make sure it's colored.

Regular paper does fine.

Step 8: Paste and Cut the Back of the Cards

Paste then cut the cards with pure black background on black construction paper

Paste then cut the cards with pure white background on white construction paper

Paste then cut the cards with a white background with a black border on violet construction paper

Step 9: Enjoy the Game!

Gather a group of 4-6 players and immerse yourself into the world of Heart. Where Good must learn to deceive and Evil must learn to cooperate and hunt together.
