Introduction: HI-CAPA (NEVER JAM AGAIN-FOREVER!)

THIS IS A EASY MOD FOR AIRSOFT GBB HI-CAPA'S.....

-IF YOU'VE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE SLIDE GETTING STUCK THIS WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.

Step 1: THE OUTTER BARREL

If you've come across the problem of having your slide getting caught on the outer barrel -Your not alone.....

- Your gonna need to start with drilling the bottom side of the outer barrel. There is not really a lot of room for error so make sure that you mark the area where you need to drill and do it carefully. You only have about a quarter of an inch to work with.

If you have a WE version there is a little mold type circle that you can see in the picture. I marked my drilling point on the bottom lip of that circle. (see Pic)

Also use as small a screw that you can work with thats not cheap!  -Because you don't want it breaking.

Step 2: THE SPACER

You can easily find a nylon spacer at your local HOME DEPOT for less than a dollar. Cut it a little smaller than half an inch (see pic)

There is one that will just almost fit on to the inner barrel but the outer diameter will fit snug on the inside of your outer barrel that you've previously drilled.

-Just drill the inside of the nylon spacer (slightly) so that it fits tightly on the inner barrel. Meaning that you have to almost force it on. This will ensure that the the two pieces will never move apart from each other while your shooting.

I know it might sound confusing but just take your barrels to the HOME DEPOT and find the one that fits snug.

Step 3: POSITIONING THE OUTER BARREL

When you find the correct spacer, cut it to the desired size and placed in on the inner barrel, your going to need to position the outer barrel so that there is a slight gap by the ejection port.

The reason that you do this is because when the slide snaps forward it will smack the end of the outer barrel and could cause the two joined pieces to loosen.

----  If you have a stronger recoil spring this will definitely smack the outer barrel too hard. it's better to leave a slight gap.

Step 4: FINE ADJUSTING

If you want less of a gap between the ejection port, then off set the pieces as shown in the picture.

Step 5: LINE IT UP

When you find the position that you're pleased with insert the inner barrel into the outer barrel and finish drilling the hole for the spacer so that it lines up correctly.

Step 6: KEEPING THE INNER BARREL STRAIGHT

There are a couple of things you can do to keep the inner barrel straight. Applying tape on the end helps it stay put and keeps it center.....Use what ever you can -I use Duct Tape.

Step 7: EXAMPLE OF CENTERED INNER BARREL

See the tape keeps it tight and center :)

Step 8: DOUBLE CHECK

I know it's obvious but,  make sure that the two pieces are joined together like the picture on the left.

Step 9: COMPLETED MOD

So this is what it should look like when your done.....

It's really simple and works because you get rid of the timing issues when the slide recoils back and the outer barrel pushes downward and forward -then back to the staring position.

THINGS THAT CAN AFFECT TIMING:
-stronger recoil springs
-stronger hammer springs
-a modified hammer
-different gases and temperature
-cheap blowback housing unit

These wont matter anymore if the outer barrel stays together as one piece!

Step 10: EXTRA STUFF

If you want to short stroke your HI-CAPA everyone knows that a spacer is easily placed in between the recoil spring.
I have to thank youtube for showing me the way.  I still wanted my slide lock to function so I reshaped the half circle that the slide stop comes out to the shape of the catch......See my picture :) - Your gonna need a DREMEL or a thin file but its easy to reshape because the slide material is soft.

The Spacer is exactly the same size and length that I used to join the two barrels together.
-You can cut the spacer .25 of an inch if you take out the rubber buffer.

Step 11: HAMMER & SEAR

On your HI-CAPA there are two cocking positions for the hammer....I DREMEL away the half cocked position. (TRUST ME YOU DON'T NEED IT). -It's the top one if you did'nt know.

-It gets in the way of speed shooting and full auto mods due to high recoil and timing issues with MOD'd hammer/sears.

"GETTING RID OF THE SECONDARY WILL GIVE YOU MORE OF A GUARANTEE THAT YOUR GUN WILL FIRE ALL THE TIME"

Step 12: SUPER SHORT

Look at how much I shaved the hammer/sear thingy on my HI-CAPA. It works pretty darn well if you ask me :)

Step 13: SOME OTHER THINGS

I highly recommend that you replace the whole blowback unit because the stock one sucks!!!!!!!

-ohhh and don't listen to that guy that says to shave the top of the hammer that the bottom of the slide catches on. It's not gonna fix your problem.

There are a couple of things like shaving the inside of the slide where the two nubs that the outer barrel mates with might help. I shaved the inside of my slide but for some reason I can't post anymore pics for the instructable....I think I might need a PRO MEMBERSHIP. I can only post 13 pictures so your just gonna have to imagine it....and it is very hard to get your DREMEL or cutting tool in there....sorry:(
