you could also use model rocket engine powder which burns like hell

i think thats gunpowder, ive heard it said several times on this website
Jul 6, 2007. 10:55 AMTrumpetNeel says:
mostly black powder

I think there's some confusion here between the different kinds of explosive powders. Black powder is what was used back when guns were first invented as gunpowder, but nowadays guns usually use a black powder substitute like Pyrodex or Clear Shot, which are less sensitive but give more bang for your buck. Most model rockets don't use black powder or a substitute, but a completely different formulation of ammonium perchlorate, potassium nitrate, and aluminum powder which is then mixed with a binder and put in a case. They are not by any means the same thing.

That is correct. If you turn any type of metal (well most) into a fine powder it can be turned into a explosive. Dont bother, it has to be as fine as baking soda.

wouldent karocine make like an incindeary bomb? or you could use the napalm of the cooking world, melted sugar xD
Sep 11, 2007. 2:39 PMthemasterpyro says:
kerosine, like parafien requires a host to burn gasoline however, uh uh nope solo burning
Aug 22, 2007. 8:36 PMdannydutton says:
Kerosine? Anyway, kerosine isn't that flamable all by itself. It is possible to put out matches with a cup of kerosine. If you mixed styrofoam and gasoline, you can make a nice napalm substitute.
Aug 13, 2007. 12:05 AMCrysthala says:
I wouldn't recommend using kerosene. You'll blow yourself to hell. Also, napalm is bad for everyone, but it is not melted sugar.
Aug 13, 2007. 3:42 AMjamesrichie54 says:
have you ever tryed cooking with melted sugar(burns like a mofo) and i was just saying that karosine was a bad idea it was segested in the instructable
Aug 17, 2007. 9:02 PMCrysthala says:
I see, I misunderstood what you were saying. Sorry about that. I haven't cooked with melted sugar, but I have seen others do so. Yes, it's sticky and burns hot like napalm, but it doesn't have any hydrophobic (water-repelling) properties that I am aware of, like napalm does. Melted sugar is (obviously) sugar based, but napalm is hydrocarbon (oil) based. Just pointing that out. :) I like to avoid people saying things like mixing Styrofoam and gasoline makes napalm (it doesn't!!) and that storing nitroglycerin is safe. Misconceptions like that might get people hurt.

YOu could make this with model rocket fuel that has been crunched up into powder. Then you pack it into the egg (pack it full!) and get a model rocket engine fuse and electronic ignitor. You then figure out a way to make the electronic ignitor wireless (radio?). Then you bury the egg underground and stand back as hell is unleashed! HAHAHA

can i see a video
Jun 21, 2007. 6:25 PMknexboi says:
this works waaaaaaay better if u use powder instead of the fireworks.u can try taking the powder out of the fireworks(this will take a lot but itll be worth it).and then wrapping the powder into a toght package ith the fuse in it.then drill a hole in the egg so the fuse can come out and then put the bbs or paintballs in it.oh yeh.using kerosine will probably seriously injure you or anyone around you
Aug 13, 2007. 12:02 AMCrysthala says:
If black powder is placed into a confined space, it will explode if heated instead of burning. The fuse itself actually igniting the powder is less important than the powder being heated enough to go off.
Also, this is not in fact a high explosive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_explosive#High_explosives A big boom it may have, but it is not by any means comparable to Semtex or C4. Not trying to be mean here, but please look up some terminology before you go around classifying explosives.
Jul 16, 2007. 9:14 AMorrichio says:
Listen.. If you were to use either Black powder or flash powder (not smokless powder) It would ignite since, when the fuse would hit the shell of the egg it would just fall down. And this is no high explosive grenade... its just fire crackers..
Aug 9, 2007. 12:14 AMdrake says:
if you put a red sparkler in the egg with a fuse and use a role of duck tape.......it will be a big boom!
Jul 26, 2007. 2:41 PMMighty.Mouse says:
Unfortunately this isn't an "HE grenade"... It's fireworks.... in an egg...
Jul 22, 2007. 2:26 PMmotorbreath says:
yea hypn0tics right u can also buy black powder just b careful with it tht crap doesnt take much to ignite
Jul 13, 2007. 10:27 AMmotorbreath says:
this is cool I was using ping pong balls and black powder this is a lot easier to make and the materials are easier to get
Jul 19, 2007. 3:58 AMJames (pseudo-geek) says:
mind posting the ingredients for black powder?
Jul 19, 2007. 12:52 PMHypn0tic says:
Black powder is simply made of charcoal, sulfur, and potassium nitrate the instructions can be found on pyroguide.com type fireworls into search the like will say charcoal click and then it says how to mkae charcoal and if u clik on the hyperlink saying "black powder" it tells u the rest or, he could be talking about gun powder
Jul 19, 2007. 2:54 PMJames (pseudo-geek) says:
thanks a ton.
Jun 22, 2007. 8:57 AMknexboi says:
if i want to blow something up i just put the powder in a piece of paper(i always use A4 but i think that wont fit in a easter egg)and then wrap it tightly with tape.i have tried using fireworks an i have tried using powder and powder works way better.u just have to wrap it tight.
