PH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution.  Physicians  test Ph levels of patients to help diagnose symptoms that cause patients to be ill.  Farmers use PH testing for their soil to ensure high yields and quality produce.  The perfect PH balance for ADULT bodies is 6.4, above is alkaline and below is acidic. Most american's have an acidic body because we eat highly processed foods grown with commercial fertilizers, causing our bodies to become acidic.  PH strips are available online and at your local health food stores.

There is a lot on the Internet about PH balancing and foods that help you achieve the correct balance.  Processed foods are highly acidic.  A lot of diseases today could be avoided with the proper PH balance. 

Acne is caused by PH imbalance.  When a person has the right PH balance they usually don't crave carbohydrates.  Balancing the PH level helps improve the skins appearance  and naturally regulates the bodies weight .  

Juicing is a great way to a healthy diet.  Eating plenty of raw fruits and raw vegetables is also important.  According to Dr. Young, a person can exercise too much!  So there is balance with exercise also.  Here is a link to Dr. Young's interview about weight gain.

A good PH balance for drinking water is: 6-8.5

Because our foods  contain lower mineral content , we should supplement our diet with vitamins and minerals.  Many pharmaceutical companies make vitamins and minerals that contain petroleum products that your bodies don't digest.  You eliminate these products through your bowels receiving no benefits from them.  Health food stores are usually pretty careful about stocking these types of products and have a good selection of supplements.  

PH balancing is the key to optimum health and wellness.  We are what we eat and drink and the key to a glowing body starts with cleaning up and balancing the inside of our bodies. 

Next I will discuss fasting and cleansing the body. 







Step 1: FASTING AND CLEANSING THE BODY

After PH testing I recommended cleaning out all the toxins responsible for your PH in-balance.  You can do this naturally by fasting and cleansing your body.  There are recipes online for fasting.  Basically you eat light, avoiding processed foods.   Eat fresh fruits and vegetables that help change the PH of your body.  Here is a link to a chart that shows you the PH of foods.  Of course if you have serious medical problems you should consult a doctor before trying any cleanses and fasting.  The information I am giving is based on my own research and experience, I am not a medical doctor.

You can do a 3-5 day fast. 

There are also many body cleanses available online but here is a good one I use that has been beneficial to me and one that is inexpensive.  Next I will discuss cleansing with water and lemon. 





Step 2: CLEANSING WITH STEAM DISTILLED WATER AND LEMON

You will need 2 Gallons of STEAM DISTILLED water for each day of cleanse.  It is very important to make sure it is STEAM DISTILLED because there are different processes in distilling water. I tried to take a picture but it did not show the steam distilled.  You look for processed by steam distillation.
3-5 freshly squeezed lemons for each day of cleanse.

Pour out enough of the  distilled water to add the fresh lemon juice to one gallon of distilled water.  (per day)

Save one gallon of distilled water to drink as is.  (per day of cleanse)

Drink 1/2 cup of the lemon water at the top of the hour. Example 6 am 7am 8am through out the day, until one total gallon has been consumed, between the 2.

Drink 1/2 cup of plain distilled water at the bottom of the hour Example 6:30 am 7:30am 8:30am  through out the day until you have consumed a total of 1 gallon between the 2 gal.  You can do this 3-5 days once a month to maintain good health. 

The purpose of this is:   The lemon water loosens the toxins in the body and the regular distilled water flushes the toxins out of the body.  One creates a positive charge that attracts the toxins and one produces a negative charge alimenting toxins from the body.

After your body cleanse I suggest a bowel cleanse but will not cover that in this instruct-able.  There is a lot of cheap bowel cleansing recipes on the Internet.   




Step 3: DIET CHANGES THAT EFFECT PH LEVELS

Ph testing will determine ones PH levels. Changing the diet by eating more alkaline or acid foods  alters the PH level reducing the  risk of diseases, problem skin, and obesity. If your body is highly alkaline, increasing foods with a higher acidity content will lower your PH level. No, this does not mean eating processed foods. You need to eat more fish, poultry, eggs, etc.


Alkaline producing food examples are:

Fruits
Vegetables
Sprouts
Cereal
grasses
Herbs

Acid forming foods are:


Meats
fish
poultry
eggs

Manufactured processed foods are acidic. It is important to balance each meal with 75% alkaline to 25% acidic to maintain health.You can eat all the right foods but if they have been grown with chemical fertilizers it changes the PH levels to acidic.  It is best to grow your own or buy organic produce and meats. More and more people are becoming vegetarians because of the poor quality of meats. Vegetarians receive their proteins from eating whole grain rice and beans,  together they form a  complete protein.

The average adult body sits at 7.35-7.45 pH... you listed it as 6.4. I hope its just a typo because any pH less than 7.1 ( if I remember correctly) is incompatible with human life... Just a heads up :)

Alkaline diets have not been tested on humans!

Then again, consuming nothing but lemons is hardly an alkaline diet!
The last page of this instructable lists fruits as alkaline, or producing alkaline, whatever that means! At least where your tooth enamel is concerned, fruit is acidic!

Very interesting, I will have to attempt this one during a time when feasting will not be present on the schedule, considering I like lemon-water anyway. :)
