HOW TO MAKE a REPLICA OF THE FAMOUS ALTOIDS TIN. (AND RECYCLE AT THE SAME TIME)

Hi This indestructable is about how to make a metal box the same size (or what ever size you want) of the Altoids tin. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS????
This means you can make your own tins..... WHATEVER SIZE YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!
Heres how.

MATERIALS:
2 EMPTY ALUMINUM CANS
SHARP SCISSORS
PENCIL
STAPLER OR SMALL NUTS AND BOLTS OR SODDER GUN.

Step 1: The Basics.

A basic Altoids tin is a box and a lid. This is the same as paper craft only instead of paper we are using aluminum.
First you will need to to cut of the tops and bottoms of the 2 cans.
After that flatten the can into a sheet.
This is what they should look like.

Step 2: The Box

To make the box part of the Altoids tin you need to make a piece of paper with the lines and dimensions as shown in the picture. Basically what you need to do is copy the diagram.

Step 3: Making the Box

To make the box you will need to cut out the diagram and put it over the flattened out piece of aluminum can. It should fit just perfectly. Now use a pencil and a ruler to transfer the diagram on to the aluminum by retracing it while pushing on the pencil. Only transfer the lines, not the numbers. Now cut out the metal diagram. After cutting it out cut just the lines inside the yellow rectangles.

Step 4: Putting the Box Together.

To put the box together you need to fold the lines in the picture. I'm using the paper for the picture because its hard to see on the aluminum.

Step 5: The Finnished Box

After following all those steps the box should look like this.

Step 6: The Lid

To make the lid you will need to make a piece of paper with these dimensions on it.Then the detentions on a new piece of aluminum. Cut it out and fold it like you did with the box.

Step 7: Finnishing Up

To finish staple, screw, or sodder the corners. Another good option is crazy glue. This is what the finished box should look like.
