How to create a simple yet impressive Halloween corner featuring paper bats and a paper crow.

You will need:
white paper
black paper
pumpkins in various sizes
old crate
cotton wool
pencil
scissors
tape

Step 1: Create a Template for the Paper Cutouts

Print a free template or picture that has the desired shape. We used bat templates from www.marthastewart.com and www.bhg.com. If you don't have a printer you can also trace the outlines of the bats from your computer screen onto some white paper.

Step 2: Create a Prototype for the Paper Cutouts

Cut out the bat shape you just printed or traced from your screen.

Step 3: Replicate Paper Cutouts

Use a pencil to trace the outline of the bat on the black paper. Try to get as many outlines onto one sheet as possible. Then cut the bats out.

Use the same method to create one bigger paper crow.

Step 4: Put Paper Cutouts on Wall

Form tape strips into little loops that you stick to the back of your cutouts. Stick the paper bats on the wall keeping them in the upper third of the wall.

Step 5: Decorate

Lean a branch against the wall underneath your paper bats. Use some cotton wool to imitate spiderwebs on the branch. Put an old wooden crate in front of the branch. Put one or two larger pumpkins in front of the crate. On top of the crate put one large pumpkin and a few smaller ones. Position your paper crow on the wall to make it look like it is sitting on the branch. For some spooky atmosphere you could also hide a small tablelamp behind the crate.
