Hi, my name's Omar Ouqfi, before coming to Canada, I was living in Morocco, and I worked on a project that took me 5 years to finish. I want to present my mosaics.

Here's how I made it : 1. bake the clay 2. varnish the clay in different colors 3. cut the clay on the form you want 4. stick the pieces of clay side by side by lying them on the floor like on the picture 5. Cover the all with cement and let it dry 6. You've got your handmade mosaic, be carefull, it's fragile !

This is only a survol of all the manipulations we did, my three coworkers and me to construct this. I hope you'll enjoy my explanations !
Leave your comments, I'm glad reading them.

Absolutely beautiful.Wish I had the patience.I have done a bit of mosaic but nothing so intricate.Must have cost a bit.How many pieces did you use?And the design? Did you design it all by yourself? You are an ARTIST.

I agree that the project is exquisite but the instructable needs more information on how it was made.

This website isn't Flickr, and there is no instruction in this "instructable". Fail.

There's a host of slideshows on here and i find them all rather interesting despite not showing the how.

Very nice work. Please, please do an instructable - even if it just covers the very basics - materials, tools, etc. Thanks for sharing, but we want more.

They are beautiful. Do you use stones or tile? How do you create the patterns?

Please tell us more, Omar!
