Introduction: Hands Free Mask

Problem: you can't do anything else with your hands when doing this funny face.
Solution: make a mask shaped like hands.

This fast and easy instructable empowers people to make a funny hands mask without having to use their hands. Now you can be funny and drink a soda or go trick-or-treating without revealing your true identity. As an added bonus, this is more sustainable than a typical mask since you can use scrap paper to print on, use common materials you probably have already and then recycle it when you're done. Have fun and be guilt-free! haha..

Step 1: Download

Download the template here

or go to my website- www.2d3d5d.com

Step 2: Print

Print out the file. The standard size will work for most adults but you can scale the file before printing if it is for kids. I would scale to about 50% if it is for a child under 13.

Step 3: Mount

Take the print out of the mask and mount to a piece of cardboard (not corrugated!). I used a piece of chipboard and spray mount. A panel from a cereal box will work fine and glue stick will also work well to adhere the mask template to the cardboard.

Step 4: Cut It Out

Cut out the mask with anything you have- scissors, utility knife, Xacto knife, pocket knife, butcher knife, laser cutter, etc...
Instructable user, bowmaster, recommends using a Katana. I agree ;/

IMPORTANT: stay just outside the line!

Step 5: Insert String

Use a screw or nail to poke holes in the mask where indicated. Find a piece of string and attach it to the mask. A couple standard knots at each end does the trick.

(a piece of elastic string or a rubber band will also work well here)

Instructables user- Weissensteinburg, recommends just gluing to the frames of some old glasses...without the lenses.

Step 6: Wear and Enjoy!

Place the mask on head. Have fun! Guaranteed laughs and giggles ;-D Fun for the whole family. Notice that your hands are free to do other things while still making the funny face?!

Feel free to color and personalize anyway you want.

TAKE PICTURES! (hopefully yours will turn out better than mine)

Step 7: Upload and Share!

After taking pictures of using your Hands Free mask, email them to me and I'll post them on my site and here on Instructables!
