Step 4Super Custom Bandsaw Made from Chop Saw

Super Custom Bandsaw Made from Chop Saw
After some oil this gorgeous machine spun right up and the blade wasn't even too bad.
It used to be a hinged cutoff saw but someone stood it up and put a little table on it to use as a vertical bandsaw.
Due to the large belt reduction it moves nice and slow and is plenty powerful to cut metal.

Not at all. It's a horizontal bandsaw converted to a vertical bandsaw. What's the problem? I do that with the bandsaw at work all the time. I like the shopping cart-converted-portable stand! I need to go round up more of those. The one I have is going to be a utility cart

I believe the metal band saw in my shop was actually designed to be able to switch from the cut off mode to vertical operation. There is nothing home brew looking about the small table, a locking mechanism. That or the person who modified it was damn good.

That just looks like the epitome of danger.
