Furry Chaps from Fleece Rug
Star made me a pair of these. They're really cozy.
They stay up from the fur sort of gripping your legs. They keep my feet warm even when I'm barefoot, which is unexpected.

To make a pair wrap the fleece around your leg and figure out how wide it needs to be to be tight but not too tight. Cut it out. Sew them into tubes. That's easier if you shove the fleece inside the tube instead of letting it poke out of the seam. Put them on and enjoy the coziness.

Hi Tim, It makes sense that the fuzzy leggings keep your feet warmer, even barefoot. The extremities are warmed by blood flow to that particular limb and in the wrists and lower legs, the blood vessels are close to the surface of the skin, so if you keep heat loss low in those areas, then the blood will retain more of its heat when it makes it to the extremity. This keeps the aforementioned hand/foot warmer than if the blood is "precooled" by passing close to the surface of exposed skin on the way there.
