Hanukkah Menorahs

Create a family keepsake for years to come with a homemade Hanukkah Menorah!  Its a great project to do with the kids and family.  Put it in your window and celebrate the Festival of Lights!

We have all sorts of menorahs including LED menorahs and the traditional candle menorahs.

Of course it's nice that people celebrating chanukah. But i'm amused with this fact: every Menorahs here mentioned have 9 branches instead of 7... a little big mistake I think.

Seven branches for the Menorah, nine branches for a Channukkyia. I think the best trick to remember the different number of branches and names is to learn somekind of book related to this subject.

Someone isn't Jewish......Hanukkah menorahs have 9 branches, one for each night and the shamash candle used for lighting the others.

Technically, the candelabra for Chanukah is called a Chanukkiyah. It is a common mistake/synonym used in the US, where we have evolved our own lingo. But a menorah (as used in the Temples) had only seven branches. Go to Israel and call it a menorah, and you will be shot down in flames. :-)
