I have been watching the evolution of the super bright LED's, I wanted to make a light weight, bright enough for commuting . I also wanted to make it use the light possible batteries with out sacraficing burn time. and the ability to get batteries from 7-11 if need be.

Very nice and "ghetto" light!

One could also use the XP-G variety LED from CREE for even more light output
(at the same consumption = more efficient)

I really like your light, but duct tape is awful as electrical tape. Shrink wrap is the best.

Good work splats - she's still working well. Next version you might want to try shorter wires, or ones that can unplug so it can be routed through helmet zip ties or whatnot. But I bet you are way ahead of me and have already thought of that.

Good bike light. I like it being light weight so it won't affect turning your head. Also it won't interfere with the effectiveness of the helmet if you hit your head. Where does the battery assembly go?

Where ever you want to put it , I personally carry in in my back jersey pocket so I can just reach back and turn it on and off easily
