That said and done, most of the people smoke for various reasons. This instructable will guide you to how to reduce the ill effects of smoking by making a herbal cigarette. For those who don't know what a herbal cigarette is here is the explanation. A herbal cigarette is a cigarette which uses a substitute for tobacco for lighting up your smoke. The major difference here is that it does no contain NICOTINE content which is addictive. People get addicted to smoking because of nicotine. their body gets used to it and they become used to its daily intake. Also, tobacco is a health hazard. it causes all sorts of health problems like chronic coughing, mouth cancer, lung cancer, etc. In short, if you go the herbal way you will enjoy smoking minus side effects!
So, what are we waiting for? Lets start!

Step 1: Things we need for the mixture
Things we require for the mix:
1. Morris Alba (or shetut in hindi) leaves: about 20-25 leaves (for 2 cigarette sticks approx.)
2. Nutmeg (or jaiphal in hindi) powder*
3. Clove powder or mint leaves for flavour
Things to get done:
1. paper to roll the mix
2. cotton filter
3. glue
4. scissors
5. container
* Optional. It is a substitute to get high... (m not joking :0 )
Once you have all these, proceed to next step!
Step 2: Cut and dry the morris alba leaves
Take about 20-25 leaves and cut them into small pieces with the help of scissors (small enough to the size of the tobacco filling in cigarettes). after cutting them store them in a box to dry for over 10-15 days depending on the climate.
Note: Make sure you store them in a cool and dry place as the can catch fungus and ruin everything.
If you are using mint leaves for flavour, do the same for them and store them in a seperate box (take about 50 mint leaves for flavour).
Step 3: Make clove powder and nutmeg powder
To make clove powder, take about 4-5 cloves and grinds them.
If you are using nutmeg to get a kick, simply shred them like cheese to get the powder.
use 1 tea spoon of each of them depending upon your taste.
After the leaves have dried, take them out and mix them with clove and nutmeg*.
Ta da... You are done with your mixture. Now, put in a paper. use cotton as a filter and u r done!

Smoking nutmeg / cloves? That has got to be horrible, like sniffing-glue. It's oily and as you say "a bit toxic".
I think this has promise in terms of experimentation, but "legal" translates to "cheap and unpleasant" to me.
Get yourself some (illegal) good-green... Man, why did God create good-highs? It's only The Man says "you can't do this" - why obey and do something crappy?

Hundreds of thousands of smokers smoke clove cigarettes.
The most popular brand being "Djarum Black".
I'm not too keen on them, but they are a nice change from regular "Marlboro this, Newport that".
Yes and millions of women smoke menthol (yuk like Earl Grey tea).
