Introduction: Holiday Sugar Cookies
Delicious holiday sugar cookies
Step 1: Ingredients
Things you will need
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cups baking powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla
any color food dye
(get extra flower)
( For more cookies double or triple ingredients but make sure the ingredients are all even and proportioned correctly)
Step 2: Mixing
Mix the flour,eggs,sugar,baking soda, butter,salt,vanilla, and almond extract together
Step 3: Cooling
Let you're cookie dough cool off, either by putting it out side or putting in fridge. You can put them out side if it is any where from 30 to 40 degrees Celsius outside. Cool them for 20 minutes to an hour. The longer the better
Step 4: Cutting
Once dough has become thick and cold,go to the surface you are using to roll out dough and cover in flour. take two handfuls of dough and roll out cover in flour.
Step 5: After Cutting
Put the cookies on a non stick pan, to not make the cookies stick to the pan we used Pam spray. Put the cookies in the oven at 350 for 10-15 mins or till golden and the edges start to golden.
Step 6: Making Icing
To make icing you need powdered sugar and hot water. In a bowl mix 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and a cup hot water mix together until smooth. ( the picture was taken while mixing icing)
Step 7: Color Mixing
To make the icing colors we got food coloring and put drops into the icing to get the right color. The less drops =the lighter color of icing
Step 8: Almost Done
Ice the cookies and you can add sprinkles on top, or be creative and add your own decorations.
