Materials needed:

Scissors

printed fabric found at My Fabric Designs or

two strips of solid fabric measuring 2 inches by 17 inches

a coordinating patterned fabric measuring 13.5 inches by 28 inches

Sewing machine or needle and thread

Step 1: Make Handles for the Bag

Fold the solid strips of fabric in half so they are now 1 inch by 17 inches, with right sides facing.

Sew along the edge further from the fold.

Turn right side out

Step 2: Attach Handles

Fold the large fabric in half and mark the center of each half.

Measure 3.5 inches away from the center mark on each side.

Pin each end of the handle 1/4 inch away from the edge of the large fabric, 3.5 inches away from center.

Repeat on the other side.

Now both handles are pinned in place.

Fold over top making sure to fold over the handles.

Sew across the top to keep the top of the bag from fraying.

Fold the handles up and sew back over them again. This reinforces the handles.

Fold the bag in half and pin the open side and bottom.

Sew along these sides.

Turn right side out.

Turn the bag right side out and fill with a fun gift.
