This is a pretty simple recipe, but it always reminds me of fall. Enjoy.

Step 1: Ingredients

For apple sauce I gathered

4 honey crisp apples (for sweeter apples like these, I would recommend using less sugar),

3/4 cup of water (you may need to add more if you cook it down longer),

1/5 cup of white sugar,

1 tablespoon of brown sugar,

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon,

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg.

Step 2: Chopping the Apples

Core, skin, and chop the apples.

Step 3: Combine All Ingredients

Combine all of the ingredients into a sauce pan and heat over medium heat until the apples become soft.

Step 4: Mash and Cook Down

I used a potato masher to mash the apples into a sauce. If you do this at about 20 minutes and stop cooking the apples down, you will have chunks of apples throughout your sauce. I continued to cook down my sauce after mashing so that the apple chunks melted away.

Step 5: Eat, Jar, Enjoy

After letting it cool for a little while, I put it into a mason jar for storage. Hope you enjoy.

If you like it, i have entered this and my "apple snack sandwich" in the apple chef contest.

That looks delicious and easy to make.thanks.
Thank you
Thanks for your comment. Enjoy.

I served mine with Hot Polish Sausage. Thanks for the recipe, and next time, I plan to fool around with Pork Chops and slices of mango in the mix.

Great ideas. Thanks the comment.
I suggest putting lemon juice on the chopped apple before mixing the ingredients.

Ooo looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Great job. Just another use for such a versatile fruit such as a apple.
