Step 1: Gather the materials

DSCN0671.JPG
The first step is to gather up your ingredients. For my chocolates I decided to use strawberries, blackberries, coconut shavings, white chocolate, and milk chocolate. You can use any kind of fruit you like, but keep in mind that if you're using fresh fruits you'll need to keep the chocolate refrigerated and eat it fairly quickly. If you want your chocolates to last longer I would recommend using dried fruit or nuts.

In addition to the chocolate and fruits you'll need the following:

- Two pans for melting the chocolate.
- Bowls for holding chopped strawberries.
- Two rubber spatulas to keep the chocolate stirred
- Two Ice trays (or something similar to use as a chocolate mold)

Optional:
- Apple corer (to use as a chocolate mold)
- Food coloring

Mmm, tasty! You might want to use a Bain Marie next time.

For those of you who don't know what a Bain Marie is, it's basically a double boiler. Very excited to test this out, BTW.

Loved this tut! A little messy but definitely worth a try. I really liked how all the colors came out. I am going to try this with my egg cartons and put peanut butter in the middle..I am an experimenter too!

Thanks for sharing

Remember not to put water in it because it will be really thick and not smooth. You want high gloss and smooth. Sounds like I'm talking about lipgloss, huh?
