Home Made Peanut Butter Cups

 by ben_k
Because I am a big fan of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and I never seem to have enough of them around, I figured it would not be very difficult to make them myself. This way, I can make them exactly to my preference: I used dark chocolate, and gooier peanut butter. Also when you make them yourself, they can be whatever shape you want them to be.

Step 1: Ingredients And Materials

Here's what you will need to make about five large cups:

About 15 large chocolate chips, your favorite type
1-2 teaspoons of powdered sugar
1.5 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter
A mold, at least 3/4 of an inch deep

I used your instructable to help me make peanut butter filled chocolate hearts (anatomical hearts, that is).

Mine were a bit different and I ended up making it into another instructable, but I linked it to this one and gave you credit.

Thanks!

Here's a hot tip, but the chocolate in the microwave twice for 15 seconds. And then mix in a little milk withe chocolate and you can pour it into the mold/paper cups. And wet your hands with water and you can work with the peanut butter quite easily.

Good idea with the peanut butter.  The thing about adding milk to the chocolate though, is then it is not dark chocolate, which, in my opinion, is superior to milk chocolate in every way, shape and form.

One thing I found out is adding too much milk to the chocolate causes the chocolate to become too soft. When I trued pulling one of the peanut butter cups out of the paper mold, it was a gooey mess. The ones I made when I burnt the chocolate came out alright. Go fig

I added only a little confectioner's sugar and graham cracker crumbs. Better than Reese's!
