Homemade Air-Rifle

Step 3Gluing

Gluing
Once you have determined that there are no problems with the frame, you must glue the parts carefully. (For those without PVC glue, you may use a hot glue gun and quickly apply it, because it is fast drying.)

First, apply a small amount of PVC bonding glue to the end of piece 1. Then fit that end into the soft drink bottle. The piece should stick.

Then remove the needle on your sports pump. Stick it inside of piece 7 and glue it.

It is then up to you to glue the rest in the same manner. You can choose not to because it may be useful to replace some parts without having to throw away the whole gun. I recommend to Never glue the two ends of piece 2a (ball valve) because it is the single most expensive piece on the gun and 5 dollars.

Ask for a glue that will bond PVC to PET. If you can't find one, you could try superglue and liberal amounts of tape. Or you could use a PVC chamber. It's your gun.

"First, apply a small amount of PVC bonding glue to the end of piece 1. Then fit that end into the soft drink bottle. The piece should stick." PVC Glue is for PVC on PVC not PVC on Coke Bottle. It will not bond properly. "Never glue the two ends of piece 2a (ball valve) because it is the single most expensive piece on the gun and 5 dollars." What are you thinking? You idiot. $5 whole dollars! I pay $50 for one fitting sometimes. $5 isn't worth safety to you? You my friend have no idea what you are talking about and teaching other kids to make unsafe cannons.

First , I have spent hundreds of dollars on valves ,but that has nothing to do with these air cannons , they are all dangerous .It is better if they go to pieces then they blow up in some ones face .Not everyone has our resources mrcrowley .I happen to have 10 of those valves that I may never use .I do hope that people take care gluing stuff up , you made some very good suggestions .I would suggest that if anyone makes one that they check the pressure rating for the pipe before they use it ,some larger sizes of PVC aren't meant for any pressure at all .PVC makes nasty shratenal "It won't show up in x-rays ". An MRI will find them but will take much longer .
