Introduction: Homemade Boombox Collection

I made all of these boomboxes. I was first inspired to make boomboxes by the character Radio Raheem from the movie Do The Right Thing. My first one was bigger and heavier than it needed to be and used a pair of overpriced speakers that were lacking in highs. Since then I have figured out that car speakers work well as they are light and are usually co-axial or have full-range response.

First Boombox- 6 1/2" speakers, Dayton T-amp custom wooden box. Too big, lacks highs. To make this one I had to custom cut the a couple big wine boxes (6 bottles). UPDATE: Now using coaxial car speakers ( http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=267-7164&scqty=1) that sound a lot better. Also made the box slimmer, so it's easier to carry.
Second Boombox- 4" Car Speakers, T-amp module. Much smaller and easier to carry. Made out of a single wine box. UPDATE: upgraded the amplifier and the internals. Now able to use 3 different power supplies, batteries, a 12v wall wart, and 120v power from the wall stepped down with an internal SMPS.
The twin Boomboxes- 5 1/4" speakers, internal 12v power supply for plugging into the wall. They were made out of bigger single bottle wine boxes. No picture gave them to friends.

I will definitely be making more of these in the future. When I do I will be sure to update this 'ible.
