Introduction: Homemade Corn Tortilla Chips

This is a simple and quick way to make your own tortilla chips at home.

Step 1: Gather Supplies and Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients and supplies:

Ingredients:
1 bag of corn tortillas
1 tablespoon oil (vegetable, olive - whatever you have on hand)
Salt (optional)

Supplies:
Cookie sheet
Nonstick spray
Knife
Pastry brush

Step 2: Prepare Your Tortillas

First, preheat your oven to 350°F and spray your cookie sheet with nonstick spray.

Then, lightly brush on a bit of oil to one side of each tortilla, and stack them on top of one another, oiled side facing up.

Once your tortillas are all stacked, cut them into quarters - if you want your chips to be smaller than this, you can cut them into eighths.

Arrange the tortillas on your cookie sheet (no overlapping!)

Step 3: Bake Your Chips

Bake the tortilla chips in the oven for ten minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown. When you pull them out of the oven, they may not look crispy to you - don't worry, they crisp up as they cool. Allow the chips to cool on the pan for a couple of minutes, then test for crispiness. If they're not to your liking, place them back in the oven for one or two more minutes.

Transfer the chips from the pan to a cooling rack, and begin your next batch. The chips cool very quickly, and as soon as they do, they can be placed in a Ziploc bag or other airtight container and stored.

Step 4: Cool and Store

Transfer the chips from the pan to a cooling rack, and begin your next batch. The chips cool very quickly, and as soon as they do, they can be placed in a Ziploc bag or other airtight container and stored.

Note: These chips go great with my homemade salsa!
