Han Solo costume I made for Halloween 2013.

-Shirt

-Vest

-Pants

-Boots

-Blaster

-Leather Holster

The shirt, vest, and pants were all bought at a thrift store. The shirt I had to tailor and re-sew to get it to fit like it should. The vest is a black, button-up shirt that I removed the collar from. I also had to cut the bottom of the 'vest' off straight and re-enforce it with a seam to give it the look of the vest in the movie.

Step 1: Shirt, Vest, Pants, and Boots.

The shirt, vest, and pants, were all bought at a thrift store. The shirt I had to tailor and re-sew to get it to fit like it should. The vest is a black, button-up shirt that I removed the collar from. I also had to cut the bottom of the 'vest' off straight and re-enforce it with a seam to give it the look of the vest in the movie. The pants were dark navy blue wrangler dress pants and I got lucky finding the perfect size at DI. The boots were belonged to my dad and he had had them for forever.

Step 2: Han Solo Blaster

The Blaster definately took the most time of the whole project because I was so cautious i when getting started so that I would get the right look.

it was made from:

-a block of wood 2x6x6 (This was a single piece for the handle and the main body of the gun)

-The barrel was a half inch pipe threaded on the end that attached into the stock of the gun. The end of the barrel was half inch pvc straight fitting.

-The scope was half inch pvc with fitting on the front and back.

-The random decorative pieces are from a plastic microscope that I bought at a thift store as well. The back of the scope as well as the very end of the barrel are also from the microscope.

I stained the handle dark brown and then taped it off and painted the body of the gun with gloss black spray paint. Then a lightly sprayed silver on the corners and edges to give the blaster an aged, used look like it should have.

Some of the close up pictures are when it was not completely finished.

Step 3: Leather Holster

The Holster I made from a scrap of brown leather about 2'x'2'. I attached button snaps to the back where it attached to my waist and looped it around my belt loop on my pants then snapped it in place. I cut and sewed a whole in the top front corner and hooked my belt buckle through it to keep the fron in place. I sewed on an elastic band to keep the bottom tight to my leg. The color isn't right but I think its a nice feature.

And there you go. A simple, economical yet super legit Han Solo costume.

Hope you enjoyed it!

Great costume! I really like how authentic it looks. I'll have to modify it for myself (I'm a girl), but it should work pretty well. Thanks!

Han solo is undoubtedly on of the most notable and popular character of the Star Wars franchsie after Dath Vader, I am tremendous fanatic of Harrison Ford perfomance as Han Solo which at long last arrived at end with the Star Wars VII scene. For paying tribute to one of my by and by most loved character from the establishment I've chosen to dress like him in this forthcoming Halloween, however I ham experiencing difficulty choosing an impeccable Han Solo Boots. You suggesstions will be exceedingly welcomed. By the way you have composed an extraordinary blog entry!

You May Visit http://www.hedford.com/blog/star-wars-han-solo-cos...

Why did they have to kill Han? I liked him.

Looks like an older project, but you've done a good job of breaking it down and showing all the necessary parts. Nicely done!

Also, first time I think I've ever seen anyone reference the DI on instructables. My favorite thrift store!

You look very authentic! I love the simple blaster and it looks just like the movie prop! Thank you for sharing!
