Fold the tips of the legs really lightly with the pliers, it will make harder for it to scratch you/your telescope, or poke an eye out.

You could wrap the legs in duct tape, but I like the shiny copper wire showing.

Some thoughts to improve my design:
-it was meant to be relatively simple so plenty of improvements could be made
-the dot, when shining over long distances tends to vibrate, becuase of the vibrations being picked up through the wire legs. You could possibly use softer wire. I've found that using it on carpets helps this a lot.
-its hard to make fine adjustment, but with a little patience its not too hard to get it right

Holding a laser isn't the only thing this could be used for, it could be a recipe holder, art display, a paper stand for typing, and a lot more, be creative with it!

Have fun and Happy Lasing!!
