1 cup light corn syrup
1 ¼ c. creamy peanut butter

In the mixing bowl, add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup light corn syrup.
Stir together. This will be thick.
Microwave for about 2 minutes.
You will want the mixture to come to an all most boil. When you start to see bubbles around the edges, you are done.
**The mixture will be very hot, so use caution.
Remove bowl from microwave.

Step 3: The Peanut Butter

Add 1 ¼ c creamy peanut butter and stir well.

Step 4: Bringing it all together.

Add 5 cups Krispy Rice Cereal.
Keep mixing until all the cereal is coated.

Pour into a 13x9 baking dish.
I do not butter the dish to prep the pan because these treats are not around long enough in my house for them to stick to the pan. If you choose, use non-stick spray or butter to prep the baking dish.

Step 5:

Spread the peanut butter rice krispy mixture in the baking dish.
Pat down the mixture with the spatula to make it compacted in the pan.

Step 6: The Topping

In a small microwave safe mixing bowl, add ½ c. semi-sweet chocolate chips and ½ c. butterscotch chips.
Microwave for about 2 minutes; stir the mixture after about 1 min and every 30 secs. until melted.
Stir until smooth.
Do not over heat the chocolate or it will dry out and get hard.

You can make a simple syrup with equal parts of water and white sugar, boil on the stove until thickens.
